CF5 : study in silence (2013) for flute and violin duo
ロンドンに拠点をおくエストニア出身の若い作曲家で即興奏者。作品は様々な国で名高いソリストやアンサンブルに演奏されている。ロンドン王立音楽院にて博士課程に在籍し、新しい身体表現を用いた室内楽の作曲を研究テーマとしている。サイモン・ベインブリッジ教授指導のもと、音楽院からの支援を受け、レベッカ・ソーンダースにも師事している。現在はオクタンドル・アンサンブル、カーラ・リーズ (微分音フルート奏者)からの委嘱を作曲している。
Elo Masing is an Estonian composer/free improviser based in London, UK. Her music has been performed internationally by renowned soloists and ensembles. She is currently studying towards a PhD at the Royal Academy of Music, where she is exploring the physicality of instrumental performance in chamber music. She is mentored by Prof. Simon Bainbridge, and with support from the Royal Academy of Music, receives private tuition from Rebecca Saunders. Elo's current and future projects include commissions from the Octandre Ensemble, quartertone flute specialist Carla Rees, and pianist Zubin Kanga.
